More Heartbleed Protection: Update VMware Horizon View Client on Your Mobile Devices

The industry is still cleaning up following the news about the Heartbleed bug in OpenSSL. VMware has released updated versions of the Horizon View Client for both Android and iOS.

The easiest way to ensure you’re safe from the Heartbleed vulnerability is to check to see if there’s an update to the View Client available for your device, and if there is, install it. You can do this on Android by going to the Google Play Store and then selecting “My Apps”. On iOS, go to the App Store and select “Updates”.

Running VMware View? Hold Off on Upgrading to vSphere 5.1

I know we’re all excited to get at all the new features of vSphere 5.1 now that it’s available for download, but if you’re currently running VMware View, you should hold off for now.

At the moment, vSphere 5.1 is not certified to work with any version of View. You can see a list of the View-supported vSphere versions in the VMware View 5.1 Release Notes.

VMware Announces Updates to View and Horizon Application Manager

Today, 2 May 2012, VMware is announcing new advanced features in their End-User Computing solution set.  These features come to us in the form of VMware View version 5.1 and VMware Horizon Application Manager version 1.5, both of which should be GA by the end of May.
